Temporal

An illustration featuring the two main characters from my book, Temporal, locked in battle. This is the epic clash between DaoRoch and Akh Ur-Nammu, colored, of course, by Rachelle Rosenberg. That's what I'm talkin about!

Rorschach Squared

another fine color Watchmen piece from Milady Awesomeness aka Rachelle Rosenberg. Yes, I am going to acknowledge her in every post featuring a work she colored, dammit! Even if she's the only colorist I'll ever work with, her name should be heard. She's from the land of awesome.

Dr. Manhattan

what can i say? Rachelle Rosenberg just continues to deliver, and every piece tops the last. I can't believe I drew this, because her colors just send the quality of my work rocketing off into the stratosphere. This is one of many prints I'll be selling at this year's upcoming Wizard World Chicago (June 26-29th), so swing on through if you'd like to get your hands on this and other works. Also, Rachelle will be available for autographs, and she'll be selling some hot ass prints of her own. You should come to the convention just to meet her and buy her work. Seriously.

Dr. Manhattan & Rorschach

Given that Watchmen is one of my all-time favorite reads, and with the movie looking so damned slick, I felt obligated to draw up some of my favorite characters. Here's the finished inks on two.

DaoRoch vs. the Hydra: part deux

too tired to write anything to go with the image...taa-DAA

DaoRoch vs. the Hydra

So I decided to add the main character from my creator-owned comic to this piece. I've been experiencing severe withdrawal from not having scribbled the ol' guy in a while, and it is just satisfying to draw him up again. mmm...DaoRoch

FOR THE LOVE OF ART!

so I'm working on the designs for this indy book "The Tourist," and everything is going smoothly. On a whim, I decided to eMail a guy named Eric Canete just to tell him he was the shit. I have a link to his blog on this page, and you should really check it out. Well, Canete wrote me back, and he made me realize I had gotten away from the most important part of the process; having fun! My friend Greg Titus (who's page you should also check out. These guys can draw circles around me) has been saying the same thing to me for a while, and I think it finally clicked. I broke away from the standardized character designs and came up with the image you see here, in process. It's not quite finished, but I haven't posted anything in a while, because I've been all inspired and focused. So big ups to Greg Titus and Eric Canete for some truly salient inspiration.

SOUL MAN!

It's another design for The Soul. The goal here was to illustrate a more ethereal figure; a being made of energy, lacking solid form. Hopefully, I managed to accomplish that goal on some level, but really, I just had a freakin blast inking this piece. I love brush!!

THE SOUL

This is the first of many designs I'll be posting for The Tourist, a project I'm working on for the good people at Panel 88 Comic Productions. This fellow is known simply as "The Soul." As you can see, I do tend to get lost in the details. What started out as simple rendering became an orgy of crosshatching. Hey, sometimes you gotta hatch. mmm...satisfying

SPIDER-WOMAN FINAL INKS

Here she is all inked up and ready to be colored. I am absolutely loving the brush as an inking tool. Smooth, silky, and oh so sexy. Perhaps I shouldn't be so open about my love affair with art supplies? It's a personal problem, I know.

SPIDER WOMAN

Here's my first real attempt at inking something completely with a brush. It's unfinished, but I'm pretty happy with the results. I plan on coloring the piece, and I'll post the finished work, once it's done. Man am I ever tired. It's bedtime, yo. enjoi!

EASY RED RIDER

Here's a concept design for a project I worked on. The idea is red riding hood meets rambo and buffy. Wish I could take credit for it, but this was a friends brainchild. Fun stuff to draw, though.

RAZIEL IN THA HOUSE

This piece is actually several years old, but it's a favorite of mine. It was the first "Legacy of Kain" inspired work I ever drew, and it's colored entirely in copic markers. Hopefully someone out there digs Raziel as much as I do. enjoi!
