STASIS

here's a spread i did for a book called "STASIS." I'm pretty damn proud of this piece, and it was fun as hell to work on. below is the scenario I was going off of for the page...

SCENE#1 (From PAGE 47 of the Script)
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM
Pvt. Collins stumbles into the center of the Conference Room.
Right in the middle of the HUNDREDS OF PATIENTS.
Deathly afraid, they stare at him. Backing away in terror.
The crazed Private looks around at them. A grin appears on
his lips.
AND THEN HIS BODY BEGINS TO TRANSFORM...
Cpl. Garret and Cpl. Kincaid race inside to see --
-- THE MUTATED FORM OF PVT. COLLINS stretching out his arms.
HALF OF THE PATIENTS PANIC, backing against the far wall.
They can’t get past him to the doors...
THE OTHER HALF stand before Pvt. Collins in a stupor.
ALL AT THE SAME TIME...
The CATATONIC PATIENTS begin THRASHING. Convulsions taking
over...
...and their bodies START TO CONVERGE. Joining together with
each other, arms and legs and hands intertwining...
Becoming ONE with PVT. COLLINS --
To create ONE NEW MASSIVE ENTITY. The monstrosity of nearly
200 DISTORTED HUMAN BODIES acts in unison as one Entity.
It LASHES OUT at cornered Patients -- CRUSHING some, and
ADDING others to its growing girth.
CPL. GARRET
Get those people out of there!
Patients flee into the hall as Cpl. Garret, Cpl. Kincaid and
Pvt. Lister fight their way past them To get a clear shot.
They OPEN FIRE on the Creature --

-- their bullets HIT HOME. But every time they knock off a
Person on the Monstrous form, ANOTHER ONE either takes its
place or the Beast re-configures its shape to compensate.
THE FACES of the mutated patients sneer at the attackers as a
group of them forms A FIST-LIKE APPENDAGE --
-- the “arm” SMASHES against the side wall, bashing against
it like a wrecking ball. Bodies on the “arm” are crushed --
-- and flop to the floor ONLY TO BE REPLACED moments later by
another body that crawls into place.
Cpl. Garret realizes the Creature’s intent:
